Career in the Doldrums
The son of veteran actor Madan Patel, Mayur Patel debuted in the year 2000 with Andhra Hendthi. His 2003 film Mani garnered him a bit of critical praise, but his following films Gunna and Slum failed to make a mark at the box office. After being somewhat absent for a few long stretches, this latest incident has brought him back into the news for all the wrong reasons.
This is one of the controversies which has arisen with Sandalwood celebrities in Bengaluru with the demand for the strict enforcement of traffic law irrespective of a person's public profile.
