The Bhooth Bangla helmed by Akshay Kumar is also performing well on Day 5 and is continuing to climb steadily to new box office heights as this 5th film really shines! It is getting better and better at being seen by some people, especially through word of mouth and family entertainment.
On Day 5, the collections were up, and the condition was a bit more pleasing to the eye than it was on Day 4. Collections were a bit down Monday, a regular for most properties after a strong opening weekend, but recovery on Tuesday has given reason to believe in that show that endures.
Trade analysts say the film is also now on course to cross ₹75 crore this week and even become one of the best-selling films this year in its genre. Akshay Kumar’s steady run is a sign that the movie continues to entice the box office, and especially an audience in comedy-focused roles.
Known for his impeccably timed performances and broad range of viewers, the actor has managed to win back that same success in getting crowds into theatres, even with a tight box office window. One big part of the film’s consistent run is how well it blends humour with some light horror for all.
Bhooth Bangla is not an intense horror movie, and occasionally not, but it has more of a work with a basis in entertainment, of situational comedy, which works for family and young people used to witnessing horror movies on a much lower-voltage level.
Occupancy rates for the movie in high-density metros were stable, but in smaller towns a slight indication of signs of growth that the picture is being shown more widely outside the metro. Evening and night shows in particular had a greater turnout, contributing to the total collections. Industry estimates indicate that, based on the current trend, the film can potentially reach over ₹100 crore in lifetime run in no time.
That being said, medium-term success will still depend on stable weekdays and new arrivals to be launched. It will most probably need consistency in the long term, even possibly some challenge from new releases down the line. And although it’s not a walk in the park yet, given we will be in its first week for weeks to come, then, it may well have seemed odd ground if it doesn’t.”
But despite the early scepticism, Bhooth Bangla has been pulling itself back. One ray of hope, because content-fueled films can do that, is that they tend to hold more or less intact on weekdays.
With the weekend winding down, as the weekend continues and another high in collections approaching, I believe this will be just what we need to get to for this. If it can only pick up on this to make sure the movie ends on a solid box office run, Akshay Kumar just set the record in comedy cinema.
