In a shocking development that has rocked the film fraternity, Bollywood actress and former Miss India, Celina Jaitly Haag, has filed a comprehensive domestic violence complaint against her husband, Austrian entrepreneur Peter Haag, in a Mumbai court.
The actress, who married Haag in 2011, has approached the Judicial Magistrate First Class in Andheri under the Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act, alleging sustained cruelty, abuse, and financial manipulation throughout their marriage.
Severe Allegations and Financial Claims:
Celina Jaitly's detailed plea, filed on November 21, 2025, through her legal counsel, outlines serious accusations against her estranged husband:
Continuous Abuse: The plea claims that the actress has been subjected to "continuous acts of domestic violence," including severe emotional, physical, sexual, and verbal abuse by Peter Haag.
Financial Control: A major allegation states that Haag systematically dismantled her career and financial independence, eventually prohibiting her from working on various pretexts. She claims he "calculatedly hoodwinked her into giving him control of her assets and finances."
Property Dispute: The plea also highlights a separate civil suit seeking the cancellation of a gift deed through which ownership of her Mumbai residence was reportedly transferred to Peter Haag while she was undergoing severe depression.
Narcissistic Behavior: The application describes Peter Haag as a "narcissistic, self-absorbed individual" whose conduct is "exacerbated by his short temper and alcoholic tendencies."
Compensation and Custody Battle
In a significant monetary demand, Celina Jaitly is seeking a compensation of ₹50 crore for the alleged loss of her source of income, properties, and the trauma suffered. Additionally, she has sought a monthly maintenance amount of ₹10 lakh.
The actress and mother of three sons is also fighting for access and custody of her children, who are currently residing with Peter Haag in Austria. Her plea specifically requests an order directing Peter to provide her with "unhindered virtual and telephonic access to the children," claiming her contact has been completely blocked.
Court Proceedings
The matter came up for verification before Judicial Magistrate First Class S. C. Tadye, who, after reviewing the complaint, has issued a notice to Peter Haag. The court has set the next date of hearing for December 12, 2025.
The legal proceedings have brought a deeply personal and difficult fight for dignity and justice into the public eye, highlighting the ongoing issue of domestic abuse regardless of social status.
