A Story of Love, Loss, and Redemption

Madhava (Zaid Khan) has a transformative transformation, as we meet him in the trailer of ‘Cult’. The story might seem to revolve around a “broken lover” theme. During the first half, we have a charming, romantic Madhava and Geetha (Malaika Vasupal). But it all does dark dark, and heartbreak sends Madhava on a road toward alcoholism and self-destruction.

Zaid Khan's growth as an actor is marked by two shades: a clean-cut, romantic hero and a rugged, bearded, traumatized man living with addiction. As that jilted romantic man, we also see his depiction of the emotional pain he goes through, which is paired alongside some gritty action sequences that carry the strong, strong production values.

Powerful Supporting Cast

Rachita Ram is definitely a little more mysterious in that trailer than Malaika Vasupal, who is gorgeous in her role and also has such brilliant chemistry with Zaid. Far from a pop-up appearance, her character also looks brassy, grown up and important to the plot's overall movement.

One must wonder for the rest of this season whether she has anything to do with Madhava, to begin with could she be his savior or does she hold the key to his past? The movie also has a stellar supporting cast who come in strong-willed veterans, especially Achyuth Kumar and Rangayana Raghu, who can really bring dimension to the emotional beats in the family, especially the pain parents go through when a child goes on to addiction.

Technical Brilliance

Directed by Anil Kumar, ‘Cult’ is expected to be a visually rich experience. The dreamy Arjun Janya as the composer of the music sets the mood for both soulful romantic songs and strong action sequences. A choreography done by A. Harsha and then visual storytelling make this film as if you want another modern "cult" classic set to take shape.

Key Highlights of the Trailer:
