Nainika Anasuru has made some startling revelations about the darker side of the Telugu entertainment industry. With the most impressive performances on the dance reality show Dhee and Bigg Boss Telugu Season 8, Nainika has a huge social media following for her dance videos and glamorous presence.
In a recent interview, the dancer was open to questions about women in the film and television industry and women who are new to the industry. Social media and industry observers have picked up on her comments.
Nainika said the entertainment industry is not some glamorous place that people think it is. She said there are a lot of horrible things aspiring artists have to deal with behind the scenes.
“The industry is not as easy as people think. There are so many dark truths here. For newcomers, it can feel like hell,” she said during the interview. Nainika said that if she had a daughter in the future, she would hesitate to get her involved in the industry because of some of the horrifying incidents she’d witnessed.
The dancer also reflected on an incident that shocked her. She said she had received a call on a commercial advertisement shoot for a real estate company from someone who was presented as a professional opportunity. “I really liked it, and I immediately answered it,” she said.
In what was allegedly an unexpected turn, the caller said that the payment would depend on her “personal rate.” Nainika was confused by the comment and was so confused that she asked the caller to clarify.
She said the caller then suggested she would need to meet someone privately and referred to rumours and social media discussions where actresses and models are often subjected to inappropriate assumptions. Nainika said she immediately rejected the proposal and ended the call.
Nainika was open with her stance on that matter: in the past, she had never sacrificed her values for the good of others for a job opportunity. Her talent, hard work and experience are the only ones she is willing to take for success (not shortcuts).
“If anyone asks me for a commitment in exchange for work, I say no immediately. I do not need opportunities that come with such conditions,” she said.
As Nainika stressed that she has the confidence to refuse an inappropriate demand, young women entering the industry are at risk. In her opinion, many newbies are in a vulnerable position (for example, their aim is to build careers, and they have no experience in the industry).
Her comments have once again brought attention to the long-standing concerns about exploitation and unethical practices in some sectors of the entertainment industry. The interview has generated widespread support on the internet, with many praising her for speaking openly about problems that are often discussed privately but rarely addressed publicly.
Nainika’s revelations only fuel the debate about safe working environments for aspiring artists in the film and television industry.
