Janhvi Kapoor visited the sacred Sri Venkateswara Swamy Temple in Tirumala yesterday and prayed just a couple of days after the release of her latest film Peddi. The actor, who plays a major role in a Ram Charan-led sports drama, was seen at the hill shrine seeking the blessings of Lord Venkateswara.
Janhvi appeared in the early morning rituals in a south Indian silk saree and participated in the Suprabhatam and Thomala Seva. She spent nearly two hours in the temple premises, offering prayers and seeking divine grace for her career and the family.
A Post-Release Pilgrimage
While many actors visit temples before a film's release, Janhvi's pilgrimage comes shortly after Peddi hit theatres worldwide. The film, directed by Buchi Babu Sana, has received a lot of praise at the box office and Ram Charan's performance is one of the most appreciated in any part of the movie. Janhvi's part deserves improvement in the writing but it does add to her already expanding filmography in pan-Indian cinema.
Just a little after darshan, a clearly calm Janhvi said, “I always feel peace coming here. I am thankful for all the love Peddi is getting, and I wish to thank Lord Venkateswara for his blessings."
Tight Security, Devotional Fervor
The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) had made special arrangements for the actor's visit, given the heavy rush of pilgrims. Janhvi was accompanied by her personal security team and close aides. She provided coconuts, flowers, and donated to the temple's Hundi (offering box).
This is not the first time Janhvi has visited Tirumala. She has been a frequent visitor to the shrine and often sought blessings before big professional milestones. Her mother, the late Sridevi, was also a devout pilgrim to Tirupati.
With Peddi performing well in Telugu states, Janhvi’s prayer visit is seen as a gesture of gratitude as she continues to expand her footprint in south Indian cinema.
