The wait is over for 'Jujutsu Kaisen' fans. In a very special MAPPA 15th Anniversary Lineup Reveal event, the animation studio showed off its first teaser trailer for'Jujutsu Kaisen Season 4: The Culling Game Part 2'and confirmed that the next chapter is on the way.
While MAPPA has not yet announced its release date, the teaser has already excited fans of the anime community and gives us a glimpse into the fighting and shocking developments to watch for Yuji Itadori and his friends.
First Teaser Brings Back the Chaos of the Culling Game
The new teaser doesn’t waste any time drawing viewers back into the dark and dangerous world of the Culling Game. There are dark shots of the Prison Realm at the start before the introduction of a few important characters who will have a hand in the future of the show.
A lot of the fan-favorite characters like Yuta Okkotsu, Maki Zen'in, Kinji Hakari, Hajime Kashimo, Tengen, and Charles Bernard are present. The tension mounts as Kogane announces a new rule for the deadly Culling Game and Kenjaku expresses plans to bring the ritual to its conclusion.
The action-packed second half of the teaser is filled with confrontations between Kashimo, Hakari, Yuki Tsukumo, and Choso. Yuji Itadori and Megumi Fushiguro are also in severe struggle against overwhelming odds as the conflict erupts across Japan.
The teaser is certainly one of the most chilling; Japan is awash with cursed energy, and in it humanity is exposed to an existential threat. The trailer ends with a chilling appearance by Ryomen Sukuna who teases us with the dark angles and the terrible battles ahead.
Release Date Still Unknown
Although the teaser indicates production is going on, MAPPA has been silent on the release date. Because of the scope and complexity of the next arc, however, it may take quite a while before fans go back to jujutsu sorcery.
So far the studio has only assured viewers that work on the new season is progressing and more updates are expected in the next months.
What Happened in Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3?
In season 3, the opening stages of the Culling Game, a deadly battle royale created by Kenjaku as part of his plan to change humanity using cursed energy, were adapted.
Yuji Itadori, Megumi Fushiguro, Yuta Okkotsu, Maki Zen'in, Kinji Hakari, and other powerful sorcerers joined the game to collect points, rescue allies, and free the sealed Satoru Gojo. In this season, we were presented with brutal battles, strategic alliances, and powerful new players.
Even as the Culling Game spread to Japan, Kenjaku’s grand vision became more apparent and more dire for the sorcerers. The season concluded with the stakes higher than ever, setting the stage for the next big fights in 'The Culling Game Part 2'.
With Sukuna’s shadow hanging over the series and the fate of Japan at stake, it promises to be one of the most intense and emotional moments in the series’s run. Next, we can look forward to the next chapter of one of anime’s biggest modern phenomena as MAPPA continues the epic Culling Game story.
