Landlord Trailer: Duniya Vijay and Raj B. Shetty Face Off in a Brutal Tale of Rural Rebellion

Landlord's trailer provides a peek into a period-setting drama it feels like the 1980s, with fear and injustice driving a small village. Jadesh Hampi, the former creator of the blockbuster Kaatera, appears to be revisiting his favored genre, the rebellion of the oppressed. For many, the visual language and tone of the trailer recall memories from the National Award-winning Tamil film Asuran.

A Clash of Titans

In a stark contrast to his former roles, Duniya Vijay portrays an aging yet resilient protagonist named Rachayya. The actor has gone from “mass hero” to a common folk who is grounded and becomes the voice of the voiceless. Beside him is Raj B. Shetty, who arrives with a real antagonistic role for the first time.

Raj, portraying Sanna Dhani (the nasty, prideful landlord), in the trailer puts on a chilling performance, revealing a broad emotional depth that sets him apart from an ordinary villain. Raj B. Shetty wears an interesting wig to complement the look of this period, giving his character its unique texture.

Powerhouse Ensemble Cast

The film portrays a major teamwork effort of talent:

  • Rachita Ram: In a character play that is rooted and resonant, Rachita Ram plays Ningavva, Rachayya’s wife.
  • Ritanya Vijay: Duniya Vijay’s daughter turns up to the screen here as Bhagya, a police constable. It is advertised by her own comments that she is a turning point for plot resolution of the film.
  • Umashree: A seasoned actress who delivers high-voltage dialogues to illustrate the weight of their struggles.
Rakesh Adiga, Shishir Baikady, and Achyuth Kumar also appear in significant roles at its heart.

Technical Brilliance

The trailer mixes high-octane action with emotion. Ajaneesh Loknath’s background score gives a haunting intensity to the visuals, and the cutting, hard-punching dialogues, by Maasti Upparahalli (a Salaga star), emphasize the boiling rage of the oppressed. A powerful line in the trailer underlines the theme: "We shouldn't beg for our rights; we must stand up and snatch them back."

Produced by Hemanth Gowda and KV Satya Prakash under the banner of Saarathi Films, Landlord is set to hit theaters on January 23, 2026.
