Samantha Ruth Prabhu’s latest Telugu film Maa Inti Bangaaram is an emotional family action drama with comedy and action sequences and a lot of emotion. The film was released on June 19, 2026 and has already started a conversation on modern cinema by mixing old-fashioned storytelling and contemporary storytelling.

The story is based around Swarna, played by Samantha, who marries into a large family and hides secrets from her past. As those secrets are revealed she must protect her loved ones and continue to gain acceptance in the family. The story is a mix of family drama, humor and suspense with action sequences adding variety.

Samantha’s performance is the movie’s highlight. She brings emotional depth and authenticity and in action scenes she revealed she “suffered blows and bled” during filming. Her dedication is undeniable, so her story is powerful and relatable. Manjusha Mukkavilli has good comic timing and Gulshan Devaiah is a strong villain yet critics feel the character of the villain could have been more complex.

As far as music is concerned, the film is sound and light and the music of Santhosh Narayanan is inspiring; Thassadiya is a good example. Om Prakash’s cinematography is excellent and the editing keeps the first half crisp but slows down in the second half. The action choreography is realistic, with no overstatement of effects and it’s credible.

The audience response has been mixed. The first half of the film is praised for the family drama and humor and the second half is viewed as more predictable and less interesting. But Samantha’s performance keeps viewers engaged and critics rate it around 3–3.5 stars out of 5 for the film.

Maa Inti Bangaaram is a one-time watch that makes Samantha’s resilience and versatility the focus of the film. Even though the second half is less emotional and the antagonist is less developed, the film works with emotional scenes, comedy, and drama that will engage family audiences and Samantha’s supporters too.
