Heritage: Kapali Legacy

What is especially remarkable about the launch for Bengalurians is its location. The AMB Cinemas of Mahesh Babu aims to stand up on a grand, venerable plot of land: the grounds of the historic Kapali Theatre of Gandhi Nagar. For years, Kapali was the center of Kannada cinema, famous for its giant seating offerings and for hosting the premieres of blockbuster films.

By calling the new business ‘AMB Cinemas Kapali’, the megastar has made an emotional homage to the city’s storied cinema legacy. Although it had originally been scheduled for a December launch, small delays brought the opening to a month later to ensure every nitty-gritty was perfected.

Trending Technology: South India’s First Dolby Cinema

Mahesh Babu also responded to social media with excitement about the project, expressing that this won’t be another multiplex. "AMB Cinemas will start operating in Bengaluru on 16 January. This is South India’s very first Dolby Cinema theatre. The AMB team has strived very hard to realize this dream, and I am exceedingly happy with these people. I can't wait to see you all in our Bengaluru facility soon." Unlike other theatres, the Dolby Cinema is designed with the combination of Dolby Vision (contrast, color, colour) and Dolby Atmos (immersive 360-degree sound), allowing for the most comprehensive sensory experience offered by the brand that is presently not rivaled in the region.

Scale of AMB Cinemas Kapali

The Bengaluru centre aims to be a gigantic entertainment hub. There will be nine giant screens, which will be designed for a wide range of films from all over the world.

  • Big Capacity: Each screen reportedly has a 60-foot-wide display. In this example it fits about 600 spectators per performance.
  • Spectacle: The screens are equipped with state-of-the-art laser projection technology that lets everyone experience the best video quality possible.
  • Luxury Interiors: Established and acclaimed AMB Cinemas from Hyderabad are being followed by such opulent lounges and gourmet food lines in Bengaluru.

Mahesh Babu: The New Business Icon

After the phenomenal opening of the first AMB Cinemas in Gachibowli, which is frequently hailed as one of the top movie-watching destinations in India, Mahesh Babu's move to establish a Bengaluru branch is now a sign of his strategy to build a pan-India luxury theater chain. As Bengaluru gears up for its grand opening on Jan. 16, the energy is palpable. AMB Cinemas Kapali’s nostalgia as a film venue will be combined with the film technology of world cinema which will make it appealing to movie lovers, as warmly enjoyed by Indians.
