The excitement has finally ended for “Power Star” fans. The producers of “Ustaad Bhagat Singh” said Wednesday that the film will go in theaters worldwide starting March 26, 2026. A new poster with Pawan Kalyan taking center stage in an intense form called "massive feast" for the summer audience also accompanied the announcement.
The Release Window & Competition
The film has also announced it will take over the opening slot for Ram Charan’s Peddi, which has been pushed back to May. Ustaad Bhagat Singh arrives only one week after the recent releases of major titles, like Yash’s Toxic and Bollywood spy thriller Dhurandhar 2 (March 19). According to trade analysts the opening will be huge because it can be seen as opening the festival stage of Gudi Padwa and Ugadi which will be the beginning of summer blockbuster season in 2026.
Gabbar Singh DNA with a Twist. The film is based on the Tamil blockbuster Theri, by Harish Shankar, who previously directed the hit Gabbar Singh for Pawan Kalyan. The director has since made clear though that it is not a frame by frame remake.
- The Role: Pawan Kalyan is a high-spirited, “tapori” style police officer — a dramatic turnaround from his stoic role in OG.
- The Cast: Sreeleela and Raashii Khanna appear as female leads.
- The Music: Rockstar Devi Sri Prasad (DSP) is writing the music, whose debut single Dekh Lenge is already a massive success.
Managing Administration and Acting
Pawan Kalyan’s rise from a full-time actor, to Andhra Pradesh’s Deputy Chief Minister is no reason to ease off his box office hold. Although he was juggling a busy political life, the actor reportedly worked 18-hour shifts to shoot the film with song lines shot in foreign locations and an emotionally fraught climax with the production.

The acting appears to change over the years, with the script cited as being altered to the actor’s current image as a responsible representative of the government and maintaining a certain "social awareness" in the entertainment content while delivering some “mass” for the fans to get from it.
Production Status
Produced, among others, by the well-known Mythri Movie Makers, the film has entered its final post-production sprint. Dubbing sessions started last week, and the promotion ramped up with trailer releases set for early March.
