Bollywood icon Salman Khan and his family have allegedly complained about the medical staff of Lilavati Hospital in Bandra who admitted to the publicly disclosed medical information for veteran screenwriter Salim Khan. In a bold move on Thursday 19 February 2026 the Khan family instructed the hospital management to stop issuing all press bulletins and releasing any public messages about the health status of the 90-year-old, citing a breach of privacy.
The Source of Tension
The frictions started after Dr. Jalil Parkar, a senior pulmonologist at the hospital, addressed the media on Wednesday to clear up rumors. Though the doctor had stated he planned to disprove accusations of a “critical” condition, he did reveal particular aspects of the senior Khan’s medical condition namely that he was placed on a ventilator as a safety measure and had undergone a Digital Subtraction Angiography (DSA) operation in the wake of a minimal brain hemorrhage.
Those related to the family indicate that Salman Khan was "visibly upset" regarding the content of clinical information given to anyone without his permission to attend a public briefing.
