The high-end Juhu area was plunged into a panic during the early hours of Sunday, Feb. 1, 2026, when unknown miscreants opened fire outside the home of the big-time entertainment director Rohit Shetty. Preliminary reports of firing at the structure by the Mumbai Police said at least four rounds were fired.
The Event: What We Know to Date
The shooting took place at around midnight between Saturday and Sunday. Assailants, who are unidentified, targeted the residential building around which the Singham director lives, then evaded capture. Police Presence: Teams from Juhu Police and Mumbai Crime Branch were on the scene and arrived soon after the alarm went off.
Forensic Evidence
A forensic science team is currently collecting shell casings from the site and looking at any impact marks on the building’s exterior. Security Lockdown: There was heavy police deployment around the director's residence and police in surrounding areas barricaded.

Is Rohit Shetty Safe?
Official sources also confirmed that no people were injured at the sight of gunfire. At the time of the incident, it wasn't immediately confirmed if the filmmaker was inside the house. Neither Rohit Shetty nor his family have yet issued a public statement. “The building was fired on. Zonal police and crime branch teams are looking into the matter from all angles,” said a police official.
Rising Tensions in Bollywood
At a time when security fears for Bollywood A-listers are more prevalent than ever. There was no group that has confessed its blame for the firing, but investigators are investigating whether it was an intimidation tactic or connected to threats received lately against other high-ranking individuals in the industry. At present the Mumbai Crime Branch is scanning CCTV footage from Juhu and surrounding arterial roads to track down the escape route of the shooters.
