The much-awaited directorial debut of Jason Sanjay, son of the Tamil superstar Vijay, is going to be made on a theatrical release date on July 31. Sigma, led by Sundeep Kishan and produced by the film production banner Lyca Productions, will go on release on July 31. The film will be released worldwide on July 31, and filmmakers have now announced that the movie will also be very interesting for the Tamil film industry as well.
Since this is Vijay’s son’s first film, expectations have been increasing since it was announced. Since the movie is already generating a lot of buzz in Kollywood, there will be many people who are waiting for Jason Sanjay to become a director instead of an actor.
We also know about the technical crew working on Sigma. Popular music composer Thaman S is composing the soundtrack and background score for the film. Praveen K.L. has been made the editor, and Sanjeev is co-director. Krishnan Vasanth is in charge of cinematography, with Tuney John for publicity design and Hariharasuthan doing the VFX work.
Jason Sanjay was not just a star kid who came to the movies alone and then went to the movies, but knew and studied and worked in the movie industry for many years before he got selected in the first place. He finished a Film Production Diploma in 2020 from the Toronto Film School and later studied screenwriting in London.
In addition, many filmmakers had approached Jason Sanjay before he chose to become a director to make his acting debut as a hero. Vijay himself had once said that the great director Alphonse Puthren had told him a story about which he wanted to bring to light to introduce Jason to become an actor. But Jason finally took on a directing role and took on cinematography.
Sigma's release date has become a big talking point for Thalapathy fans. Vijay hasn’t even announced any wishes or promotional messages for the film, and fans are waiting to see if he will respond closer to the release date. It will be released in Tamil and Telugu and has been developed for a much wider South Indian audience.
Vijay’s own upcoming film, Jana Nayagan, is also in the works, and it will also be released in the same year after Sigma. Directed by H. Vinoth, it stars Pooja Hegde, Prakash Raj, Priyamani, Mamita Baiju and Bobby Deol. Jannayakan was expected to release on Pongal in KVN Productions. But it was delayed due to censorship problems. And recently, we got news about how parts of the movie were leaked online illegally.
As Jana Nayagan and Sigma will be released in a short time, Vijay fans will surely have an awesome season in the theatres. Sigma might be one of the most closely watched debuts in recent Tamil cinema history.
