And while in the morning the couple brought closer by traditional rituals, the celebrations are barely over. As a lovely tribute to their different cultural backgrounds, they have arranged what they are calling their “second wedding” later this evening.

A Morning of Traditions: The Telugu Union

The festivities began early on Tuesday morning with a traditional Telugu Hindu wedding. In celebration, the ceremony was a master class in elegant simplicity in order to honor Vijay’s roots. According to close family sources, the couple decided on a “minimalist regal” look.

The Attire: Rashmika wore a stunning handwoven silk saree in ivory and gold, while Vijay added up in classic panche kattu with a matching silk shawl.

The Atmosphere: The couple exchanged garlands at an entirely private muhurtam with only around 50 guests immediate family among them, only a handful of industry behemoths like Sandeep Reddy Vanga present.

The “Second Wedding”: A tribute to Kodava

The couple now has their second wedding ceremony scheduled for this evening at 4:00 PM, keeping their word to honor the two lineages. This ceremony will honor Rashmika’s origins back in Kodava (Kodagu) from the hills of Coorg. The evening outfit is expected at home as the Kodava wedding is well-known for its eclectic attire:

  • Rashmika is going to wear the traditional Coorgi-style saree (back draped), worn by the famous Peeche Kathi and heirloom jewelry all through the evening.
  • The groom: Maybe Vijay will wear the traditional long black tunic that accompanies Kodava men, known as the Kupya Chale.

This dual-ceremony approach demonstrates the couples’ focus on inclusivity and honoring their family histories, and it’s an approach that has garnered them widespread validation over social media, awarding them a lot of attention.

From ‘Geetha Govindam’ to Life partners

The journey of "VIROSH" a term fans picked up years ago has been nothing short of a cinematic fairy tale. Their mutual offscreen chemistry was the subject of perennial speculation, from their initial collaboration in the 2018 hit Geetha Govindam to that year’s fiery little romance Dear Comrade.

They didn’t officially share the news of their relationship for years, only agreeing to one little bit of a long official report, their wedding announcement, last month. This has been for the past several years, but only recently. Today, their marriage is a unique “perfect end” in the sometimes acrimonious world of celebrity love.

What’s Next for the Newlyweds?

After completing ritual today, the couple are going to spend a little time at Udaipur for a dinner before flying back to Hyderabad.

  • The Grand Reception: The film industry will have a huge reception slated for March 4 in Hyderabad.
  • Mumbai Gala: A separate event for their Bollywood colleagues is said to be scheduled for the second week of March.
