Actor Zaid Khan spoke out about a high-stakes box office clash between the upcoming film "Cult" and Duniya Vijay’s "Landlord," a pivotal moment for the Kannada film industry. With both films set to release today, this "Sandalwood showdown" has captured the attention of the public and industry insiders.
Zaid Khan, the son of Karnataka Minister B.Z. Zameer Ahmed Khan, shared an open conversation he had with veteran actor Duniya Vijay regarding the overlap.
"Why Kill My Film?" – Zaid Khan's Honest Question
Zaid Khan said he personally reached out to Duniya Vijay to discuss the situation. "Why are you killing my film? After all, I am your boy too," Zaid reportedly asked with sincere honesty. Rather than viewing it as a bitter rivalry, Zaid encouraged a cooperative spirit where both Kannada films could succeed.
He suggested they promote each other’s work, acting like a "Jodettu" (a pair of oxen working together). "I told him, ‘Sir, whenever I promote Cult, I will talk about Landlord too. And when you promote Landlord, please mention Cult. Both are Kannada movies,” Zaid added, emphasizing, “let’s take a moment, shake hands, and work together.”
