An Indian national, Amritpal Singh, has been added to the FBI’s list of Most Wanted suspects after being indicted for involvement in an international drug trade network according to federal agents in New York City, who say they are interested in him for connections to the Ravinder Dhanda organized crime group, a transnational criminal group based in Vancouver, Canada. The organization was found to be a major logistical mechanism to move cocaine and methamphetamine across borders for large drug cartels in the United States, Canada and Mexico.
The move to put Singh on the FBI's most-wanted registry is part of the FBI’s expanded multi-jurisdictional sweep known as Operation Hard Ball. The national investigation has focused on the illegal cross border networks of major criminal networks and drug distribution, racketeering, and violent crime.
Court records show that Singh was issued a federal arrest warrant from the United States District Court for the Central District of California in Los Angeles on June 23, which covers charges including conspiracy to distribute and possess with intent to distribute controlled substances and conspiracy to export illegal drugs.
The FBI has released identifiers that Singh is an Indian citizen born on January 7, 1996, and has released a recent 2024 photograph that helps to recognize him for international law enforcement and public awareness. While the agency does not presently publicly speak to his location, investigators are following up on leads from the Los Angeles Field Office. Anyone who has any information about Singh’s location is being asked to come forward quickly and contact the FBI at a nearby American embassy or consulate and submit tips through official channels.
