The Baloch National Movement (BNM) held a campaign in Geneva highlighting human-rights concerns in Balochistan during the ongoing 63rd session of the United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC).
The campaign included a rally, demonstrations, an international conference and photographic exhibition. Organisers used the events to draw international attention to allegations of enforced disappearances and other human-rights concerns in Balochistan.
The campaign is taking place as diplomats, human rights organisations and civil society groups gather in Geneva for the UNHRC session.
BNM organizes three-day Geneva campaign
According to reports, BNM planned a three-day campaign in Geneva from September 24 to September 26, 2026.
The programme includes the organisation's 12th International Balochistan Conference, a rally, demonstrations and meetings with international organisations. There is also a photographic exhibition in the campaign.
The Geneva Press Club confirmed that the 12th Balochistan International Conference was scheduled for September 24 at Domaine de Penthes. BNM chairman Dr Naseem Baloch and others involved in Balochistan issues, activists and speakers participated in the programme.
Photo Exhibition Highlights Balochistan
The photographic exhibition was organised to display images related to the human rights situation in Balochistan.
BNM and its human-rights department, Paank, have used photographs and documentation to highlight cases of enforced disappearances and other rights concerns.
They say that documentation is intended to bring the experiences of affected families and communities to international attention.
A separate human rights exhibition organised by Global Human Rights Defence at the Palais des Nations during the same UNHRC session also includes information about the Baloch community in Pakistan. That exhibition opened on September 21 and covers several minority communities across Asia.
Focus on Alleged Human Rights Violations
BNM has accused Pakistani authorities of involvement in enforced disappearances and other violations in Balochistan. These are claims made by the organisation and should not be treated as independently established findings in every individual case.
On September 23, BNM said a delegation led by Chairman Naseem Baloch met a member of the UN Working Group on Enforced or Involuntary Disappearances in Geneva.
The group had a six-month human rights report and a dossier on enforced disappearances compiled by Paank. BNM said the documents were intended to provide information about the situation and its impact on families.

Event held alongside, not by, the UN
The timing of the campaign is important because the 63rd UN Human Rights Council session is being held in Geneva from September 7 to October 7, 2026.
However, the BNM campaign itself is not an official UN event. Reports indicate that the activities were organised independently by BNM as well as the UNHRC session.
This distinction is important when reporting on the event because participation or campaigning in Geneva does not automatically mean that the United Nations has endorsed the organisers' political positions or allegations.
International Attention on Balochistan
With the Geneva campaign, BNM is seeking to bring greater international attention to Balochistan. The organisation says its activities are meant to keep issues such as enforced disappearances and alleged rights violations on the international agenda.
The campaign also demonstrates how civil-society and political organisations use large international human-rights gatherings to communicate their concerns to diplomats, journalists and international organisations.
