India strongly criticized Pakistan at the United Nations for its continued support of cross-border terrorism and said terrorism continues to be one of the top threats to global peace and security.
Pakistan’s representative at the UN accused India of using terrorism as a state policy and sought to divert attention away from its own role in sheltering and supporting terror groups.
India told the UN forum that countries sponsoring or enabling terrorism cannot escape accountability by spreading misinformation or politically motivated accusations.
Pakistan’s repeated attempts to internationalize bilateral disputes are inconsistent with the United Nations and do not address the root cause of regional instability, India said, and so is the only thing that is wrong with Pakistan's approach to resolving it it is not consistent with the principles of the United Nations to take the UN and to ensure that the region’s stabilization.
India reaffirmed its long-standing stance that terrorism in all its forms and manifestations must be condemned without exception.
The delegation said that it is clear that the world must take a zero-tolerance stance against countries that harbor safe havens, fund, train or provide logistical support to terrorists.
The comments are coming at a time when tension between India and Pakistan is at an all-time high on cross-border terrorism.
New Delhi has always accused Pakistan of supporting terrorist groups that carry out attacks on Indian soil. Pakistan has denied that and said that it promotes dialogue and peaceful resolution of disputes.
At the United Nations, India stressed that terrorism continues to claim innocent lives around the world and poses a serious challenge to international stability. Member states should work together to improve cooperation in intelligence sharing, fight terror financing, and hold perpetrators and sponsors accountable under international law, it said.

India also emphasized that victims of terrorism deserve justice and that global institutions must not allow political considerations to weaken the fight against extremist violence. In this regard, selective approaches toward terrorism undermine the credibility of international efforts and embolden terrorist networks.
The exchange between India and Pakistan at the UN reflects the continuing diplomatic rivalry between the two neighbors on international forums.
India has repeatedly raised issues between the two countries in a bilateral context, while Pakistan has sought to address the issue of Jammu and Kashmir in multilateral forums.
New Delhi says that dialogue is only possible in an environment free from terrorism, violence and hostility. Indian officials have long stressed that ending cross-border terrorism is a prerequisite for improving bilateral relations.
The UN resolution reinforces India’s diplomatic strategy of highlighting terrorism around the world and pushes for stronger action against countries and organizations that encourage terrorism globally but at the same time, it is a good message at the UN which is not only to protect international peace and security but also to call for the UN to act on it.
