The statement came as people in PoJK have been protesting the social, political and economic situation in the country. UKPNP said peaceful protests are a legitimate means to voice one's opinion and they should be done in a peaceful manner but should be done in an educated manner and not in an aggressive manner.

The party asked the authorities to guarantee demonstrators’ safety and to protect the freedom of expression of ideas. Any disproportionate response against peaceful protests would only heighten tensions and damage public confidence, it said.

UKPNP stresses the importance of dialogue

The UKPNP stressed open dialogue between authorities and citizens is the key to resolving differences and finding a permanent solution. Protesters’ concerns should be listened to by the government and they should take measures to solve them, it said.

The party has always raised concerns regarding political freedoms, governance and human rights in PoJK. It has maintained that people should have the opportunity to participate in discussions about matters affecting their lives and future.

UKPNP also encouraged international human rights organisations and observers to be aware of developments in the region and to see that peaceful protesters’ rights are protected.

Concerns Over Use of Force During Protests

Political analysts and rights groups often stress that strong responses to peaceful demonstrations can generate more instability and deepen disputes between governments and citizens. They say legal rights and dialogue are important for maintaining social harmony.

UKPNP’s latest appeal reflects its wider demand for greater accountability, transparency and protection of civil liberties in PoJK. The party stressed that peaceful engagement is the best way to address public dissatisfaction and prevent further escalation.

Protesters in PoJK’s protests are also being covered by political organisations and human rights activists.

Talks for peace, for the protection of fundamental freedoms and peaceful conflict resolution are the focus of conversations surrounding the region.
