A major security breach has been reported at Ajmer Central Jail after jail authorities allegedly facilitated a video call between three inmates and Nafees Chishti, a key accused described as the mastermind of the infamous 1992 Ajmer sex scandal.
The incident has triggered departmental action, with Ajmer Central Jail Jailer Saddam Hussain suspended after allegations that he arranged the video call using his own office and personal mobile phone.

According to the details from the investigation, the call was used by three inmates: Tariq Chishti, his son Tausif alias Chinki, and his nephew Fakhar Jamali to communicate with Nafees Chishti.
The three prisoners are serving seven-year prison sentences in connection with a 2014 attempted murder case.
The video call has raised serious questions about prison security, access controls and what is said to be official wrongdoing. And the fact that the phone call was apparently arranged from the jailer’s office and his personal phone only made the situation more serious.
According to the jailer, Nafees Chishti reassured the inmates, saying, “Baaki sab kara denge, befikar raho, InshaAllah.” The call ended with Nafees thanking the jailer and saying, “Ok chacha.”
The nature and context of the conversation are now to be an important part of the investigation.
And one of the inmates, Tausif alias Chinki, has also been linked in reports to Babbar Khalsa International (BKI), adding another security dimension to the case. The nature of those alleged links is under investigation as part of the wider investigation, the police said.
Following that incident, the Director General of Prisons Ashok Rathore ordered the suspension of Jailer Saddam Hussain. A departmental inquiry has also been initiated to establish how the alleged communication was facilitated and whether prison protocols were deliberately violated.
Tausif has been shifted from Ajmer Central Jail to Bharatpur Jail after the incident. The move will prevent unauthorized communication and also separate him from those involved in the alleged incident.
An FIR has also been registered at the Civil Lines Police Station in Ajmer, which has initiated a formal criminal investigation into the circumstances surrounding the video call.
