Two Uttar Pradesh Police personnel and two Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel have been arrested after a woman’s gang rape complaint at a farmhouse in the Amroha district. The woman, 24 years old and from Haryana's Fatehabad, approached police after being taken to the farmhouse on the pretense of visiting places of worship.
Police have registered an FIR and said all four accused have been remanded in judicial custody. The investigation is on.
The woman allegedly taken to Amroha
According to Amroha Superintendent of Police Lakhan Singh Yadav, the woman was contacted by a female acquaintance on September 20 and was asked to meet CRPF Sub-Inspector Mohit.
The woman met Mohit in Sonipat on September 21. They later travelled towards Meerut, where CRPF Head Constable Lalaram Yadav joined them.
Police said the group travelled to Hasanpur in Amroha on September 22. On the way, they allegedly picked up Uttar Pradesh Police Sub-Inspector Sanjay Tomar.
Alleged Assault at Farmhouse
The group went to a farmhouse on the Atrasi-Hasanpur road and rented two rooms, they said.
According to the woman's complaint, three of the men sexually assaulted her. She alleged UP Police Head Constable Pramod later entered the room and attempted to assault her.
The woman managed to push him out and lock herself in the room. She then searched online for a police helpline number and contacted authorities.
Police Reach Farmhouse
The woman contacted police around 6 a.m. on the morning of September 23. Teams from Hasanpur and Rajabpur police stations arrived at the farmhouse and took her to safety.
Police subsequently arrested all four suspects.
The accused include a UP Police sub-inspector and head constable posted at Hasanpur police station, along with a CRPF sub-inspector and head constable. An FIR was registered under relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita related to abduction or enticement and gang rape.

Departmental Action Against Personnel
Amroha SP Lakhan Singh Yadav said departmental proceedings have been initiated against the local sub-inspector following his suspension.
A report has also been sent to senior CRPF authorities recommending strict disciplinary action against the two CRPF personnel.
This means the arrests are being accompanied by separate departmental proceedings concerning the accused personnel’s service status.
Farmhouse Manager Questioned
The farmhouse where the incident occurred is said to belong to an independent MLA from Uttarakhand, said police.
Investigators have questioned the property manager as part of the investigation. The circumstances surrounding the woman's visit and the events at the farmhouse are still to be determined, said investigators.
