Pawan Kalyan, the Deputy Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh and a prominent South Indian actor, visited the historic town of Udupi today, drawing significant public attention. His visit was centered around offering prayers and participating in religious ceremonies at the renowned Sri Krishna Mutt complex.
The Deputy CM arrived at the famous Ratha Beedi (Car Street) in Udupi, where he was greeted enthusiastically by devotees and local officials. His presence added a spiritual and political buzz to the temple town, which is a key center of Dvaita philosophy.
Pawan Kalyan received a warm and traditional welcome from the Puthige Mutt, which is currently holding the biennial Paryaya (the transfer of temple management responsibilities). The Mutt accorded him full honors, reflecting his status as a key political and cultural figure.
During his visit, the Andhra Deputy CM performed Darshan (viewing) of Lord Krishna. Following tradition, he viewed the deity through the famous Kanaka Kindi (Kanaka's Window), a small aperture through which the 16th-century saint Kanakadasa is believed to have seen the idol.
Prior to his visit to the main Krishna Mutt, Pawan Kalyan also made a pilgrimage to the revered Ananteshwara Temple. This ancient temple is situated adjacent to the Krishna Mutt complex and holds deep religious significance for devotees.
At the Ananteshwara Temple, the Deputy CM offered special prayers and participated in the customary rituals, showcasing his spiritual commitment before proceeding to the heart of the Udupi worship center.
His visit successfully combined official protocol with personal devotion, reinforcing the deep cultural and religious ties between the people of Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka's coastal regions.
