Anekal Mirza Road Accident: Speeding Car Hits Parked Bikes | CCTV Footage

The menace of reckless driving is no longer just confined to the heart of Bengaluru city. However and even more so in some outer villages and small or non-urban communities, it is a nightmare. In one particularly terrifying event, which was captured on CCTV, yesterday a high-speed car caused a chain-reaction accident along Anekal's Mirza Road. It made clear the increasing danger of dangerous cars speeding up either within residential or commercial areas.

The Incident: High Speed and Total Negligence

The accident had happened at 2:50 pm on February 18, 2026 and it happened yesterday afternoon. Mirza Road, a busy thoroughfare for local shoppers and commuters, descended into chaos when a car, according to reports, with six passengers, lost control. Witnesses and local shopkeepers said the car was traveling at an “insane speed” for a town road. The driver, either distracted or out of focus, zig-zagged (rash) on the stretch before losing grip of the steering. The car veered out of the main lane and collided directly into a row of two-wheelers parked along the side of the road.

CCTV Footage Shows the Effect

The whole sequence was recorded on a local commercial establishment CCTV camera. The footage shows:

  • A few motorcycles lined up neatly.
  • The car, coming into the frame at a much higher speed than the local limit.
  • This led to a sudden swerve; a violent impact and bikes soaring off like toy figurines.
  • The vehicle narrowly missed pedestrians as it crashed.
  • At least three to four bikes were severely mangled by the impact of the collision, and the front end of the car was severely damaged.

Six People Inside the Vehicle

Local reports have indicated that six people were inside that car when the accident occurred. The identities of the passengers haven’t been determined, but preliminary reports suggest they were likely youngsters. The crash was not fatal, but even though it was so serious, no fatalities on the scene were reported shortly after the crash, but injured passengers and bystanders by flying debris were slightly injured. Local people are furious, saying if any pedestrians had stood between the parked bikes, the scenario would have turned into a mass casualty incident.

Police Response And Increased Anxiety

Anekal Police arrived at the site soon after the crash. They have taken the footage and are looking at CCTV footage to determine if the driver was drunk or the crash was the result of both mechanical failures, combined with high speed. Residents of Anekal in particular have expressed concern over the absence of speed breakers and police patrolling on Mirza Road. "Rash driving is no longer just a ‘city problem’ anymore. This town road is turning into race tracks for irresponsible drivers,” said one local. The driver shall be arrested for questioning and a case of rash and negligent driving under Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) shall be recorded.
