The cloudburst in the neighbouring state of Nagaland caused the sudden rise in water levels, and there was torrential rain in many parts of Assam, said the BJP legislator. The overflowing rivers and excessive runoff have affected homes, roads, agricultural land, and public infrastructure, disrupting normal life in many areas of Assam.
Government Focused on Relief and Rescue
Deka said the Assam government has mobilized resources to make sure that relief reaches affected communities as fast as possible. Rescue teams, disaster response personnel, local administration, and volunteers have been deployed in flood-hit areas to evacuate stranded residents and distribute essential supplies, he said.

The BJP MLA also said Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma will visit the flood-affected areas to assess the situation and review the ongoing relief work.

The Chief Minister will meet local officials, disaster management authorities, and residents to discuss the extent of the damage and how to fix it.
Floods Continue to Challenge Assam
