Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust has received an overwhelming response to its search for a new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) from all over India. The role is by far one of the most powerful in the administration of the Ayodhya Ram Temple, and the Trust will give the final answer by August 15.
The recruitment process is in progress, and a screening committee is currently in place to assess a number of applications received from the thousands of candidates who all come from different professions and regions in the country, according to reports.
Screening Process in Progress
The committee has begun examining applications to determine whether there are Trust-qualified candidates for the job and if they have the experience to carry out the temple’s growing administrative duties.
Once the initial evaluation is complete, a shortlist of candidates will be prepared. Shortlisted candidates will then be invited to participate in the next stage of the selection process, which includes personal interviews.
After the interviews, another panel of recommended candidates will be submitted to the members of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust for final consideration.
They will make a final decision by mid-August.
The Trust will decide by August 15 who is to become the new CEO and will then announce how it will work.
The CEO will play a critical role in the administration, daily operations, infrastructure management, financial planning, and coordination of religious and public activities at the Ram Temple complex.
A Key Administrative Role
Since the Ram Temple was consecrated, Ayodhya has witnessed a huge increase in the number of devotees who visit it so far. Millions of pilgrims from India and abroad will continue to visit it every year, and the administration needs to be efficient.
The CEO's duties are expected to include:
- In charge of temple administration and day-to-day management.
- Coordinating pilgrim facilities and visitor services for pilgrims as well as pilgrim accommodation and visitor services.
- Infrastructure and development projects.
- Working with government agencies and local authorities.
- Financial and administrative management.
- Ensuring smooth conduct of religious events and festivals.
Nationwide Interest
The large number of applications is indicative of the prestige of serving one of India's largest religious institutions. Candidates from all professional fields were said to be interested in the position as it will be important to manage a rapidly growing pilgrimage destination.
The Trust’s multi-stage selection process aims to hire an experienced administrator with strong leadership skills and the ability to manage complex operational tasks while maintaining the temple’s religious and cultural significance.

The Ayodhya Ram Temple is now one of India's largest pilgrimage centers. Besides the spiritual activities, the temple management is responsible for large-scale visitor management, security coordination, infrastructure building, and community engagement.
