Bengaluru consumers are getting higher prices for fruits and flowers as demand for some fruits and flowers as demand rises ahead of the upcoming festive season. Market prices on August 12, 2026, are different based on availability, quality, and demand for different fruits and flowers.
Among fruits, apples are the costlier, and the prices of flowers are up as well due to demand for religious ceremonies, temple offerings and festive decorations.
Apple Prices Remain High
Washington apples and green apples are among the most expensive fruits available in Bengaluru markets. The retail prices for these are said to range from around ₹260 to ₹338 per kg depending on quality and variety.
Shimla apples are cheaper and are being sold at around ₹195 per kg.
Avocados are priced at around ₹210 per kg, while Kabul pomegranates are priced at around ₹165 per kg.
Higher prices of apples may also mean that households buy fruit on festival and religious occasions.
Bananas and Watermelon give some relief
Even though some of the premium fruits have become expensive, some fruits are still relatively inexpensive.
Morris bananas are sold at around ₹34 per kg, while Poovan bananas are priced at about ₹65 per kg.
Watermelon and cantaloupe are among the cheaper options, with prices found to be around ₹22 per kg.
These lower-priced fruits might offer consumers some relief if they find affordable options to pay for premium fruits.
Flower Prices Also Rise
The flower market has also seen prices rise as demand for decoration, religious ceremonies, and temple offerings has increased.
Roses are among the most expensive flowers in the current market, with prices as high as ₹300 per kg.
Jasmine is sold at about ₹200 per kg, while carnations are priced at about ₹180 per kg.
Orchids are priced at around ₹170 per kg, while anthuriums are priced at about ₹140 per kg.
Marigold remains one of the cheaper options, and is estimated to cost around ₹60 per kg.
Demand Drives Festival Market Prices
The flower price increases are closely linked to households, temples, event organisers and businesses preparing for festive occasions.
Roses and jasmine are popular for religious offerings and decorations, while marigolds are popular for traditional decorations.
