In the case of a traffic policeman from Bengaluru, in the situation of a traffic rule violator in Jayanagar had received a much-admired reputation as a well-trained, hardworking. Ravi Gowda, Head Constable (Jayanagar Traffic Police Station Fourth Block), was brave and had a passion for enforcing traffic restrictions. It occurred on a one-way street when a group of bike riders entered the road at the same time, breaking the traffic regulations.

The riders’ argument reportedly escalated to a headlong struggle to the point where a traffic constable on duty pulled them over and told them to "Stop" the argument. Soon it descended into a shouting match. Even as outnumbered, Head Constable Ravi Gowda stepped in and handled the group (around four people in all, it appears), who appeared to be a group on their way to a confrontation.

Witnesses said the officer seemed calm and had a strong determination to see that he would not give in or walk away from pressure. The bike riders allegedly attempted to frighten the officer and tell him to "drastically retreat," but the man refused them and would not bend in his duties as a law enforcement officer.

He needed to come to it professionally, keep things focused so that it didn’t bolt from him and lose control of the situation. The officer who responded escorted the violators to the police station for a formal hearing.

The Jayanagar Traffic Police has registered a case for it with the riders concerning entrance to a one-way street and violations of traffic restrictions. The riders reportedly arrived at the station and then took a written down apology once they were aware of their mistake. Riders were fined for not abiding by traffic rules.

“It’s been a huge public and senior official victory, that it’s an effective example of enforcement of traffic laws in a congested city like Bengaluru,” he said. Ravi Gowda, of course, has been lauded by the masses, and given credit to his talent as an orderly cop. Road Traffic officers have told the report that violations, such as driving in the wrong direction, present a distinct and palpable threat to the safety of citizens and the incidents they cause.

They have urged motorists to follow rules, and work alongside the police where they work on the road so they will also cooperate with the police. The episode shows that all the city police officers have to set the pace where the law breaking will be prevented in the streets of the city. The fact that we just won’t fail on that is a reminder as well that citizens need to obey the traffic laws and support the authorities if safer roads are to be built for those in our midst.
