A tragic incident unfolded at a private apartment complex in Girinagar, Bengaluru, where a 32-year-old man, Arun Kumar, lost his life due to electrocution while trying to save a parrot perched on a high-tension wire pole.
Fatal Rescue Attempt
The unfortunate event occurred when Arun Kumar noticed a valuable exotic parrot, reportedly worth around ₹2 lakh, perched on an electric pole carrying high-tension wires inside the apartment premises. Concerned for the bird's safety, Arun attempted to scare the parrot away from the dangerous wires.
Standing on the compound wall, he tried to drive the parrot off the pole using a steel pipe with a stick attached. During this attempt, Arun came into contact with the electric current, suffering a massive electric shock. He immediately fell to the ground.
Arun was swiftly rushed to a nearby hospital, but the effort was in vain; he was declared deceased upon arrival.

Following the tragic death, the BESCOM (Bangalore Electricity Supply Company Limited) and local police officials visited the site for inspection. The Girinagar Police have registered a case and initiated an investigation into the incident. The exotic parrot, meanwhile, was reportedly still perched on the electric pole even after the tragic accident.
