Passengers at such stations, including Sandal Soap Factory and Yeshwanthpur, witnessed waiting in long lines simply to purchase tickets. And the malfunction caused a lot of commuters to stand for a long time, not allowing them to move on. Some passengers told us that as soon as they paid a fee, they didn't get one. Some people also found themselves paying twice — a scenario that gave them more bewilderment and panic.

Problems with the server cause the recording of multiple transactions without tickets being generated. This left passengers concerned over whether their cash would be refunded. Many of them worried that their hard‑earned cash might get lost due to technical errors. Not immediately being told about refunds added to the stress of the situation.

Angry commuters took to the Metro station with complaints against staff of Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL). Passengers said such issues should not occur during peak hours, the times during which thousands take to the metro for jobs. Some even requested improved backup systems to avoid this kind of issue in the future. The anger wasn't limited to the delay but also the concern for the risk, the financial uncertainty of transaction breakdowns.

Many people use the metro due to how fast or low-cost it is all over town. Sudden disruptions such as the one we face have consequences for office workers, students and families. Commuters had an evening filled with nervous waiting lines for refunds, long journey times, and delays waiting to reach each destination.

The bank server issue at the Bengaluru metro stations underscored the need for robust technical infrastructures in public transportation. Although the problem may have been short-term, the inconvenience is huge for the commuters who go on the metro every day. The smooth operation of ticketing systems, and fast resolution of errors in payment systems are critical to public confidence. The event is yet another example of how technology failures can have substantial human impact; prevention should take priority.
