A tragic accident took a two-year-old boy’s life in Karnataka’s Nelamangala district, after he fell from the first floor of a house while playing. The child was found dead in Totadaguddadahalli village, and the family and local people did not know what to do.
The deceased child is identified as Dikshit, son of Naveen Kumar and Kavya. The family, who were originally from Dasarahalli, had visited a relative’s house in Totadaguddadahalli village two days before the sad incident, he said.
According to early reports, Dikshit was playing on the staircase on the first floor of the house when the accident occurred. In a matter of seconds, the child lost his balance, tumbled down the stairs, and suffered severe injuries. Family members reached him immediately after the accident and rushed to help him, said a family member.
The child was first rushed to a nearby medical facility, where doctors provided emergency medical care. He was later transferred to a private hospital for further treatment due to the severity of his injuries. The child had severe head injuries and was unconscious after the fall, medical personnel said.
Doctors fought to save the young boy, but his condition was still critical. Dikshit was in a coma for nearly 24 hours, doctors said. Despite the medical efforts, the toddler succumbed to his injuries, leaving his parents and relatives in shock.
The tragedy has again highlighted the importance of child safety in homes, particularly in multi-storey buildings where staircases and balconies can pose significant risks to young children. Accidents with toddlers often occur within seconds, so constant monitoring is extremely important.
After the child’s death, officials from the Madanayakanahalli Police Station went to the scene and investigated the situation. The police are now investigating and checking the details of what happened.
The deceased child’s body was later transferred to the Nelamangala mortuary for post-mortem examination. After legal formalities and the autopsy process, the body is expected to be handed over to the family.
People in the village expressed sorrow over the heartbreaking incident, and the grieving family of the young boy’s death has been a heavy blow, which has cast a pall over the area, and the accident has struck home how quickly such tragedies can happen.
And to prevent similar accidents in children’s lives in the future, parents and guardians are asked to take extra precautions around staircases, terraces, and elevated areas.
