The victim, Gyanabai, was sweeping the roadside as part of her daily routine when the car hit her. Witnesses and CCTV footage showed that the vehicle hit her without warning and she was injured severely on the ground.

What has struck the people more deeply though is the fact that her child was there too. The child was there during all of it, and video of his helpless cries and visible distress has been circulating widely. His anguish is a ghost of human tragedy that comes from speeding and careless driving.

The accused is a police constable attached to Mehakar station, Umakant. The accusations of negligence and overspeeding only deepened public anger, particularly when the officer involved is a member of the police community.

Gyanabai was immediately admitted to a hospital and now is in critical condition, fighting for life. Locals and community members have spoken out and called for swift and severe action against the accused, to hold the people responsible for the law to be held accountable.

This tragic event has reignited conversations about road safety, responsible driving, and the ethical responsibilities of public servants. Citizens are calling not only for justice for Gyanabai but also for systemic measures to prevent such incidents in the future.

In the investigation, though, one thing is clear: justice must be served, and accountability must be held to account especially when public trust in public institutions is at stake.
