The case was related to an investigation conducted by the IT Department involving Hombale Constructions.

Details of the IT Investigation

The Income Tax investigation, which spanned several months, led to searches being conducted at various premises associated with the actor:

  • Search Locations: The IT Department conducted searches at Yash's residence in Hosakerehalli and also the room he had rented and was staying in at the prestigious Taj West End hotel.
  • Notice Issued: Following the searches, the IT Department issued a notice to the actor in 2021, pertaining to his income for the six-year period between 2013-14 and 2018-19.

High Court Quashes Notice

Yash had challenged the validity of the notice in the High Court. After hearing arguments and counter-arguments from both the actor's legal team and the IT Department, the High Court bench delivered its judgment.

Justice S.R. Krishna Kumar’s bench found grounds to set aside the notice, providing a major victory for the actor and effectively ending the long-standing tax dispute related to that period.
