The incident dates back to May 8, 2026, when 30-year-old Deviprasad, a gym trainer from Bengaluru, died in what was initially thought to be a road accident near Kallukunte, close to Set Dinne village in Chikkaballapur taluk. The case was initially treated as a hit-and-run accident under the jurisdiction of Chikkaballapur Rural Police Station.

Meanwhile, Deviprasad's family says the accident was orchestrated and has named several people in their complaint, including model Ruhi Ali, claiming she played a role in the alleged conspiracy.

Family Alleges Murder Conspiracy

According to the complaint filed by Deviprasad's family, Ruhi Ali was in a live-in relationship with the deceased. Deviprasad had also worked as her fitness coach at a gym in Bengaluru.

The family has claimed that differences in their personal relationship led to a conspiracy to eliminate him. They claim that hired associates were involved in carrying out the fatal attack, which was later made to appear as a road accident.

Based on these allegations, an FIR has been registered against Ruhi Ali and others named in the complaint.

Allegations Against Multiple Individuals

The complaint also names Mohammed Ali, Ruhi Ali's husband, saying he had been harassing Deviprasad for a lengthy period.

According to the family, the harassment had severely affected Deviprasad’s mental health, and they claim he had attempted suicide twice in the past because he was unable to cope with the pressure.

The complaint also names Joshua Joseph, Sai Chandra Vikhyat alias Vicky, Karthik B., and another person identified as Karthik, and accuses them of destroying evidence after the incident. Police have also been examining tampering with evidence in the police investigation, it said.

Events on the Day of the Incident

The family stated that Deviprasad and his friends were on three motorcycles on the day of the incident. It is also claimed that Joshua Joseph told one of Deviprasad's relatives, Karthik, about the accident just after it happened.

Investigators will analyze the sequence of events, call records, CCTV footage, forensic evidence, and witness accounts to determine if the death was a real road accident or if there was a criminal conspiracy behind it.

Police Investigation Underway

Deviprasad's father had also filed a complaint in Kothanur Police Station (Bengaluru) and sought an investigation into the alleged harassment and conspiracy behind the death of his son.

As of now, the allegations made by the family are under investigation, and the accused have not been convicted of any offence. Police will question those named in the FIR and collect evidence before reaching any conclusions.

The case has attracted much public attention because it’s a dramatic story of an alleged hit-and-run accident to suspected murder. Police have said the investigation will proceed based on evidence and legal procedure.
