In an inspirational gesture that has received widespread appreciation, Union Minister and Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) leader Chirag Paswan stopped his official convoy to help an injured woman who was found lying on the roadside in Punjab on Sunday.
A video from the incident that went viral on social media shows the Union Minister immediately stepping out of his vehicle as soon as he noticed the injured woman and rushing towards her to assess the situation.
Convoy halted when seeing injured woman
According to reports, the incident took place about 10 to 15 kilometres before Jalandhar, near Dera Sachkhand Ballan.
When Paswan's convoy passed through the area, he saw an injured woman lying alongside the road. Without hesitation, he directed his convoy to stop and personally went to check on her.
He also had members of his security and accompanying team work alongside him to help the woman.
Shifted to the hospital
After assessing the situation, Paswan instructed his team to immediately transport the injured woman to a nearby hospital using one of the vehicles in his convoy.
The viral video shows another person carefully lifting the injured woman while Paswan supervises the rescue effort. She was then placed inside a vehicle and taken for medical treatment without delay.
In the case of the woman, the nature and cause of her injuries were not disclosed.

Online, the incident was being widely covered, and social media users praised the Union Minister for his swift and caring response.
The video shows Paswan rushing towards the injured woman, talking to those around him, and making sure she gets medical treatment immediately.
Investigation Into the Incident
