Several senior leaders from Karnataka, along with the Congress high command, were seen arriving at the venue for the meeting. The meeting is expected to discuss regional representation, caste equations, administrative performance, and party organization to decide on the composition of the expanded cabinet.
The Congress government in Karnataka has been under pressure from several legislators seeking ministerial posts since the party came to power in the state. All of them have repeatedly expressed their hopes for various positions, and the party leadership has said that any decision to act will be taken after careful discussion.
The high command will also assess the government’s performance, track political developments in the state, and formulate strategies for strengthening the party ahead of upcoming elections.
Although no decision has been made as to who will go on the list of cabinet ministers, political observers believe the meeting could set the stage for cabinet expansion in the coming days.
After the meeting, senior party leaders are expected to brief the media on the outcome of the discussions and any decisions taken by the leadership.
The Congress leadership has always emphasized that cabinet appointments will be made to deliver good governance and maintain social and regional balance in government.
The outcome of the meeting will be closely watched by party workers and legislators in Karnataka who have been waiting for some clarity on cabinet expansion for weeks.
