CJP (Cockroach Janta Party) on Friday intensified its criticism of the Central Government, with party spokesperson Deepak Balyan demanding the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan as the current paper leak controversy continues to ruffle feathers. Speaking in Delhi, Balyan said the foremost demand of protesting students across the country is the Education Minister's resignation, saying that accountability can only be established once responsibility is fixed.
Balyan said students have been protesting in different parts of the country because they have been frustrated by repeated examination irregularities and leakages from question papers. “These protests are a manifestation of increasing frustration of aspirants who spend years preparing for competitive exams and many families make great financial sacrifices to send their children to college,” he said.
"The main demand of the youth protesting across the country is the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan," Balyan said. He said students believe fixing accountability is imperative to restore confidence in the country’s examination system and make meaningful reforms.

Balyan said that the repeated paper leak incidents have hurt students emotionally and have left them worried about their future. He said the education system needs structural changes to protect aspirants and prevent such incidents in the future.
The CJP spokesperson also referred to the health of environmental activist Sonam Wangchuk and expressed concern about his condition after his long-term hunger strike. Wangchuk is a “national asset,” and Balyan said he was shifted in his medical treatment and deserved to be treated with dignity.
He also said that the country was still concerned about Wangchuk’s well-being and questioned the government’s handling of the situation. Balyan also referred to charges that students protesting on July 20 were attacked by police and questioned whether the Prime Minister would address those issues publicly.
The CJP spokesperson questioned why the government had not sought the resignation of the Education Minister despite assurances that cases related to examination irregularities would be investigated and that those found guilty would face swift legal action. If accountability is to be enforced, political responsibility should also be addressed, he added.
The paper leak issue has become a focal point of political debate, with Opposition parties and student groups demanding stronger safeguards for examination systems and greater transparency in investigations. They have argued that repeated irregularities undermine millions of students preparing for competitive and recruitment examinations.
The Central Government has said it is committed to enhancing the integrity of public examinations and has taken steps to tighten laws against unfair practices (e.g. through the recent move to replace the current system with new systems). It also said that the government is investigating reported irregularities and will take on those who infringe.
Demonstrations and political dialogue persist, and the examination integrity issue is still a national topic of debate. Student organizations, political parties, and education experts continue to push for better examination and recruitment processes to be transparent and accountable and restore confidence in the national examination and recruitment process in India.
