Delhi Schools on High Alert: 9 Institutions Receive Bomb Threats with Warning of Parliament Blast

The national capital was gripped by panic today, as bomb threat emails landed at nine high-profile schools. In a worrying intensification of “hoax” campaigns, the messages had an unmistakable warning to target the Indian Parliament later this week.

Crisis Timeline: "Delhi Will Become Khalistan"

The threats came in email between 7:22 & 9:00 am during the morning hours when students were arriving for their morning classes. The timely coordinated messages triggered evacuations from South, West, and North Delhi. The Specific Threats. The emails were allegedly sent by a group claiming to belong to the “Khalistan National Army,” police sources said. The texts included inflammatory language designed to get one up and running:

The School Warning

The sender warned that explosions would take place at several schools at exactly 1:11 p.m. on Monday, February 9. The Parliament Threat: Even more frightening, the e-mail said a blast would be set to take place at the Indian Parliament on February 13 at 1:11 p.m., coinciding with the anniversary of Afzal Guru's execution.

Emails read, 'Delhi will become Khalistan. Punjab is Khalistan. In memory of Afzal Guru.' The affected Schools (Indicative List). While Delhi Fire Services (DFS) received at least 10 emergency calls, the schools of the following were in the highly searched list:

  • South Delhi: Air Force School (Lodhi Road), KR Mangalam School, The Indian School (Sadiq Nagar).
  • Other areas: Loreto Convent (Delhi Cantt), Cambridge School (Srinivasanpuri & New Friends Colony), Venkateshwar School (Rohini), CM School (Rohini), DTA School (INA), and Bal Bharati School (Rohini).

Security Response: Huge Anti-Sabotage Checks

The Delhi Police agencies and BDDS and K9 teams were brought to each mentioned location-All campuses immediately deployed by the Delhi Police as well as BDDS and K9.

  • Evacuations: Students were evacuated to public open playgrounds or sent home early as a precautionary measure. Search Results: Police confirmed that at 10:45 AM the extensive anti-sabotage checks they conducted had found nothing suspicious.
  • Origin Tracing: The Cyber Cell is now hunting down the digital trail. Initial signs indicate the emails might have passed through Virtual Private Networks (VPNs) to conceal the sender's legitimate IP address. A Growing Pattern of Hoaxes. This comes after a massive resurgence of threats at the end of January 2026 where over 30 schools in Chandigarh and Gurugram were evacuated over the same hoax emails.

Security forces are rising alarm over the “resource strain” these hoaxes place on emergency services and the psychological hardship on parents and students. Advice for Parents and Citizens. The Delhi Police have warned the public to avoid panic or sharing unverified WhatsApp messages. "The situation is under control. We are following standard operating procedures. Parents must also coordinate with school administrations and can only rely on official police statements,” said a senior DFS official.
