An emotional video of a woman’s resignation from real estate firm Dr. REALtor has made rounds online from which she claims the company made her out of the picture that she had been responsible for a liability of ₹37–38 lakh as she quit her job and was now working on her own.
She had been working with the real estate company for nearly two years, she said. She says she had many clients who purchased plots through the firm in her time.
She claims that when she left she was expecting a full-and-final settlement of pending earnings and commissions.
But without her due dues she was told that she owed the company about ₹37–38 lakh. The alleged liability, she said, was linked to discounts offered to clients who purchased plots through the company.
Those discounts were not independent decisions made by the woman - but approved by the company’s management. She’s been asking why she should shoulder the financial burden of the discounts she says were part of the company’s business with customers.
Her claims go beyond the disputed financial amount. She also claims that her previous earnings were adjusted to match the alleged liability and she was also forced to pay the outstanding amount.
From her account, the company also attempted to take a share of her future income, too, she said.
The woman also described the experience as emotionally difficult. In the video she says pressure and threats came after she questioned the demand and asked for payment of her pending dues. She said she felt helpless after almost two years working for the organisation.
The claims have generated discussions about employment agreements, commission structures, client discounts and financial responsibilities when employees leave real estate companies.
Such disputes can be particularly vexing when sales incentives, discounts and employee settlements are governed by internal policies or contractual terms.
The allegations, however, are still one-sided. The claims of the ₹37–38 lakh liability, client discounts, pending commissions, income adjustment and alleged threats have not been independently verified.
There is also no response from Dr. REALtor included in the material provided. The company’s version, relevant employment documents and financial records would be important before drawing conclusions about the dispute.
The episode shows the importance of clear employment contracts and transparent commission policies, especially in sales-based industries.
Employee and company records, and written records on who has authority to approve discounts, how commissions are calculated and how outstanding payments are handled when an employee resigns.
For now, the controversy is based on the woman’s complaints that were posted online and the question of the alleged liability and pending payments needs to be further explained or documented.
