At Sabarkantha district factory, Shree Satya Dairy Products was manufacturing fake milk and buttermilk in secret for nearly 5 years. The factory was consuming 300 litres of real milk a day but churning out nearly 1,800 litres of fake milk. This was accomplished by adding harmful chemicals and oils to the solution. The substances used include detergent powder, urea fertiliser, caustic soda, refined palmolein oil, and refined soybean oil. These substances made the milk look so good in liquid but really it was dangerous for people's public health. The fake products were sold in rural parts of Sabarkantha and Mehsana districts packed up in bags and sold.

The Local Crime Branch (LCB) raided the factory on February 6, 2026 after receiving a tip-off. They also arrested four workers and detained a juvenile during the raid. Though, the factory owner escaped and is still hiding. Authorities recovered adulterated products and raw materials worth ₹71 lakh. Over 1,300 litres of unsafe milk were immediately destroyed to minimise damage.

A mixture of detergent, urea and caustic soda and bad milk can be harmful to your health. Users can have stomach problems, diarrhoea and damage to their kidneys. Long-term abuse can be toxic even to general health. This racket illustrates how greed can endanger thousands of lives.

For authorities and consumers alike the Gujarat fake milk case is a wake-up call. Better food safety checks may prevent these kinds of crimes from happening. At the same time, consumers should be cautious about the milk they purchase. When adulterated, trustworthy brands and simple home tests can be used to catch the adulteration, and the use of trusted brands. It should always be the public health of all that we have to protect, over all.
