The proposed flyover is estimated to cost ₹900 crore and is going to become one of the most significant road infrastructure projects in NCR.

₹900 Crore Infrastructure Project

According to officials, the proposed double-decker flyover will be developed near Shahberi and is designed to connect the 130-metre road in Greater Noida West with Shahberi, Crossings Republik and National Highway-9 (NH-9).

The project aims to streamline traffic and give commuters a faster and more efficient route to the Delhi-Meerut Expressway.

More Connectivity for Thousands of Commuters

When completed, the flyover will be useful for thousands of daily commuters travelling between Greater Noida, Ghaziabad and Delhi.

The project aims to:

  • Develop better connectivity between Greater Noida West and Ghaziabad.
  • Reduce traffic congestion in the Shahberi area.
  • Provide faster access to NH-9.
  • Connect the Delhi-Meerut Expressway better.
  • Shorten travel time for residents and office-goers.
  • Solving the Traffic Bottleneck in Major Traffic Bottleneck.

Shahberi and the surrounding areas have witnessed rapid residential and commercial development over the past couple of years. All that has resulted in vehicle traffic being quite heavy, especially during peak hours.

The proposed flyover will help decongest one of the busiest traffic corridors in NCR by pulling through traffic away from the local traffic and increasing overall traffic flow.

Boost for Regional Development

Infrastructure experts believe the project could further strengthen Greater Noida’s growing residential and business ecosystem as well as its position as a growing residential and business centre.

Greater road connectivity is expected to be beneficial:

  • Residential communities.
  • Commercial establishments.
  • Logistics and transport services.
  • Real estate development.
  • Daily commuters travelling across the NCR.

The improved transport network could also help to develop the region economically.

Project in Planning Stage

The Greater Noida Authority is currently preparing plans for the ambitious project. Details of project reports, technical studies and subsequent approvals are expected before construction begins.

The flyover will contribute to improving mobility in Greater Noida West and surrounding areas once completed, they said.

If it is implemented as proposed, the ₹900 crore double-decker flyover will become a landmark infrastructure project, and in turn will make travelling easier and give a better connection across the National Capital Region.
