A boat carrying seven devotees capsized near Umarsadi village in Pardi taluk in Gujarat’s Valsad district, leaving a child missing. The incident took place when the devotees were returning after visiting the Laxminarayan Temple.
The boat broke down after getting entangled in ropes with fishing nets and was then struck by a rock, according to initial reports. Six people were rescued from the boat, and one child fell into the river and is missing.
The devotees had visited the Laxminarayan Temple and were going back when the accident occurred. During the boat’s journey, it became entangled in ropes involved in fishing in the area. The impact with a rock is believed to have caused the boat to lose balance and capsize.
Rescue efforts were launched to locate the missing child following the accident. The child slipped from a woman’s hands and fell into the river when the boat overturned, one witness said. Six other passengers were rescued from the water.
