Hebbagodi Bike Theft: Youth’s ₹2.5 Lakh Bullet Stolen, CCTV Captures Accused

The young man’s long-nurtured dream of buying a Royal Enfield Bullet was broken when his sparkly bike was stolen in the early hours in Hebbagodi. And the robbery, which was committed under the jurisdiction of the Hebbagodi Police Station, is shocking to the victim and his family, not to mention the monetary and emotional toll of the motorcycle.

The youth wanted to purchase a Bullet and pleaded with his father to help him achieve this goal, according to reports. His dad, an Indian Army retiree, ultimately agreed to buy and financed the transaction. From Uttar Pradesh, the train transported the bike, reported to have been worth ₹2.5 lakh, providing a great occasion for the youthful owner.

But the delight was fleeting. Within a short period of owning the motorcycle, unidentified thieves had picked the vehicle up and stolen it in the night time. Neighbors and members of surrounding communities were not meant to be closely monitoring the episode; it was assumed to have been done quietly.

CCTV surveillance footage from the scene, which also caught sight of the suspect’s movements, is one of the investigators’ leads. So the accused began walking towards the bike set on the ground and running from the scene with it while watching the video. The police are now studying the footage to figure out who the suspect can be identified and what his movements were.

The victim, who has an emotional and financial stake in the purchase, reportedly is devastated. For him, the Bullet wasn’t simply a vehicle, but a dream, the dream of that which his father helped realise and had given up everything he had. And his father recently retired from the Army to be able to help him buy the bike, both of which raised the stakes of loss.

Police have already made a report to the Hebbagodi Police Station, and they are investigating at the moment. The police are presently investigating the stolen motorcycle to find out where to locate that vehicle. Meanwhile, the stolen vehicle is also part of vehicle theft and can even be part of a broader network that might be part of a larger whole of vehicle crime in and around Bengaluru, police added.

This disaster also raises a concern of vehicle safety in cities where more people are taking vehicles due to vehicle crime and increases in the level of incidents of bike theft, even within cities like Bengaluru and the quality of living in the city. Other options, the police said, include locking up, parking in safer places and installing surveillance measures to deter that kind of behaviour.

As the case progresses, the family, among them a 23-year-old boy, is praying the bike will return to functionality right away, the authorities said. All that remains currently is the torture of a dream, not just of a dream lost, or of mobility itself, that you lost and you lost, but also of something that was not mobility, that was a dream which was once a reality lost from you in the space of a single night.
