Four people, including Jharkhand Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Minister Dipika Pandey Singh’s daughter, were killed when their car crashed into a stationary truck in Jamshedpur early Thursday morning.
The accident took place on Marine Drive Road under the Sonari police station area, police said. The car was heavily damaged, and four people were killed.
The deceased have been identified as Trisha Singh, daughter of Dipika Pandey Singh, along with Sarthak Agarwal, Naman Gupta and Vanshika Khandelwal, according to the report. Police and other reports in the newspaper said that the victims were travelling in the car when it crashed into the parked vehicle.
The accident took place at 3 AM.
The crash occurred at 3:00 a.m. on Marine Drive. The car rammed into the rear of a commercial truck that had been parked after breaking down on the roadside.
Police said the truck was parked on the right side of the four-lane road near the divider. A small tree branch had been placed at the rear of the vehicle to signal to drivers, but officials said there was no reflector or warning signage on the spot.

The impact was so great that the car was left badly mangled. Rescuers and police went to the scene after receiving information about the crash. Reports said the bodies had to be extricated from the wrecked vehicle before being taken to hospital.

Minister’s Daughter among Four Victims
Trisha Singh, daughter of Dipika Pandey Singh, was among the four people who died in the crash. Dipika Pandey Singh is a minister in the Jharkhand government in the Rural Development and Panchayati Raj portfolios.
The deaths brought forth condolences from senior leaders of the state. Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren expressed grief over the incident and offered his condolences to the minister and the families of the other victims.
Soren described the loss of a child as an unbearable pain for parents and families. His message came as news of the fatal accident emerged in the morning.
Jharkhand health minister Irfan Ansari also expressed condolences to Dipika Pandey Singh and her family. BJP leader and former Jharkhand chief minister Champai Soren also mourned the deaths, according to reports.
