The identity of the student has been confirmed by the authorities but until now, officials are waiting for the process to be completed before speaking publicly about it.

Police have registered a case and initiated an investigation into the incident. The body will be sent for a post-mortem examination to establish the cause of death.

A lot of investigators are also looking at what we know about the incident, talking with classmates, faculty members, and university staff and watching CCTV footage from nearby places.

University officials grieved the loss and expressed sorrow for the student’s family and sent condolences to the bereaved family. The school has also provided counseling for students affected by the incident and is committed to full cooperation with the police investigation.

Students have expressed concern that safety measures and mental health services on university campuses are lacking in the wake of the death. Student representatives are asking the administration to beef up security around isolated areas of campus and build support systems for those students who are academically or mentally challenged.

At this time it is not known if the incident was accidental, a suicide, or foul play. Police asked the public not to speculate until they have the forensic reports.

The student's family members from Karnataka have been informed and are expected to arrive in Kerala to complete the necessary formalities. Authorities are coordinating with the family to facilitate this process.

It has led to discussion on campus safety around water bodies and secluded places in educational institutions. Experts say it’s important for campuses to have lighting, fencing, surveillance, and regular patrolling in vulnerable areas to avoid such tragedies.

The police have assured us that every angle will be examined before a conclusion. We expect more news when the post-mortem report and forensic findings become available.
