So the decision follows calls of pro-Kannada organisations to evaluate Hindi and other third language from local non-native speakers on the SSLC level. Based on the issues the government is now creating a framework for better alignment of policy based on policy and student interest with the policy and student.

As part of the new system, the marks received with third languages like Hindi, Arabic, Urdu, Sanskrit, Konkani, Tulu and Marathi will no longer be counted in a sum total for such items. Grade for those subjects (A, B, C, D) will not include the scores in the marks card.

However the Education Department has now made it clear that appearing for the third language exam is still a mandatory requirement for all students.

Looking like to bring in the reform announcement came from Karnataka's Education Minister Madhu Bangarappa who said the new rule will be implemented in the future as we prepare for the next academic year. The state's policy will follow the three language policy remains in place and will improve learning and academic scrutiny in India, he noted, but the basis for evaluation is still a change has been set up and changed in the way that can take more education pressure for academic effort and to address current problems at school.

After implementing the new procedure, SSLC total marks will be considered out of 525. Third language marks, like Hindi, will be awarded as grades and will not come into the total.

This change is expected to give relief to the numerous students who are struggling to get high marks when they speak third languages and thus do not perform at the same. That while it ensures that language-learning remains on and not lower Merits rankings are achieved.

Other decisions will have to be made about this change of lower classes in the near future, also.

The transformation in the education system from present to future in Karnataka is a significant step that is made on all fronts: linguistic diversity, student welfare and academics.
