This news, notwithstanding the numerous controversies, scandals and the last-minute discussions about policy, the Karnataka School Examination and Assessment Board completed the preparations for the SSLC (Class 10) Result 2026 schedule.
The results will be officially announced on April 23 at 12 PM, which could deliver relief to lakhs of students and their parents in the state. Primary and Secondary Education Minister Madhu Bangarappa announced it, confirming a critical meeting with Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. The ongoing confusion regarding the evaluation of the Hindi language subject also emerged from the meeting.
Court Order Brings Key Change
Among the biggest headlines this year has been the change seen in evaluation policy for the third language, especially Hindi. Earlier, the state government had advised that grades, not marks, should be given for the subject. However, the Karnataka High Court stepped in and instructed the authorities to assign marks instead of grades.
The state government, following this instruction, decided to comply entirely with the court’s direction. This means that students will get marks to cover subjects like Hindi even if their subject is not English.
Minister’s Statement post CM meeting. Madhu Bangarappa, who met with the Chief Minister and discussed the outcome of SSLC, told the media group that SSLC results would be released. He said that the government was under the High Court’s directive to adhere to which guidelines and promote transparency in the examination.
The Chief Minister was also briefed in detail, and the Advocate General at that time, on the talks. All that is needed to guarantee a smooth declaration of results, the minister said. He also indicated that additional information on grace and evaluation criteria would all be available at the official result announcement.
Opportunity for Mark's Improvement
The education department is further considering the idea of offering a second chance for those students to gain marks, especially for the third language. Since marks were previously assigned instead of grades, this would be a move to have the measure of fairness and opportunity to improve.
Crucially, the government is designed to make it so that students can register at no cost for this examination of improvement, breaking financial barriers and driving up access. What Students Should Expect. Upon its release, such results can be obtained online through formalised gateways by students.
Transitioning to a marks system will increase precision and comparability of the report for prospective HE students. Although early change has already introduced uncertainty, once we decide that we will continue taking the court’s decision, we have stabilised the procedure and brought a level of transparency to it.
Students are advised to keep calm and prepare as the clock approaches the result day. The forthcoming news will determine how kids learn and reflect a big policy change in Karnataka education.
