According to police sources, they were travelling on a motorcycle near Toravi when the couple was killed. Their bike collided with a lorry, and they suffered severe injuries. Ambika and Guralinga died instantly, before any medical help could arrive; the impact of the accident was so powerful that both died on the spot, said police.
Local people who witnessed the accident immediately notified the police and emergency services. Police and emergency services rushed to the scene from Vijayapura Rural Police Station and commenced preliminary investigations. The bodies of the deceased were later taken to the post-mortem hospital for post-mortem examination.
