Many districts in South Interior Karnataka will see winds as fast as 30 to 40 km/h along with thunderstorms and heavy rainfall, the forecast said. Coastal Karnataka Forecast
Karnataka's coastal areas are also expected to receive rainfall, but the intensity will be much lower in most places. Parts of Dakshina Kannada, Udupi and Uttara Kannada could also see light to moderate rainfall. Some areas could also see cloudy skies and occasional thunderstorms.
The coastal belt is receiving intermittent rainfall as monsoon activity continues across the state. The weather conditions in different parts of the districts may vary considerably; some places may only get light showers while others will experience moderate rainfall.
North Interior Karnataka
Several districts in North Interior Karnataka are also likely to get light to moderate rain and thunderstorms according to the forecast. Bagalkot, Belagavi, Bidar, Dharwad, Gadag, Haveri, Kalaburagi, Koppal, Raichur, Vijayapura and Yadgir are included.
Even though the rainfall intensity is expected to be lower than in some parts of South Interior Karnataka, isolated thunderstorms could still occur. Residents should be on the lookout for local weather updates, especially if travelling or engaging in outdoor activities.
South Interior Karnataka Under Watch
South Interior Karnataka is expected to remain the main focus of the current weather system. Apart from Bengaluru Urban, Bengaluru Rural, Tumakuru, Chikkaballapur, Kolar, Ramanagara and Chamarajanagar, many other districts are likely to receive light to moderate rainfall with gusty winds.
Chitradurga, Ballari, Chikkamagaluru, Shivamogga, Hassan, Davanagere, Kodagu, Mandya, Mysuru and Vijayanagara may see light to moderate showers with strong winds and thunderstorms in many areas.
Gusty winds could affect road travel, particularly in areas where rain reduces visibility or causes water accumulation. People are also advised to take care near trees, construction sites and other locations where loose objects could become hazardous during strong winds.
Bengaluru Weather Forecast for September 20
The weather pattern is expected to continue in Bengaluru on Sunday, September 20. The city and surrounding area will be partly cloudy, and light to moderate rain or thunderstorms are possible in the evening or night.
Bengaluru Urban and Bengaluru Rural, as well as Tumakuru and Chamarajanagar, are expected to remain under similar weather conditions. Rainfall activity in coastal and North Interior Karnataka will reduce slightly, but moderate showers might still occur at isolated locations.
Bengaluru's maximum temperature is expected to stay around 31°C and minimum temperature may remain close to 21°C. Cloud cover, humidity and evening rainfall may make it cooler during and after showers.
