The fire came on suddenly in the pub, and it was chaotic for the customers and staff in the venue, the initial reports say. Within minutes, fire spread through large parts of the building, so that it was very hard for people to escape safely.

Two victims of the incident have been identified as Sahil and Prakash. Both men were trapped in the fire with fatal burns, the Indian government said. They were later found dead after firefighters were able to control the fire, and their bodies were recovered after firefighters extinguished the fire.

In addition to the deaths, seven other people were seriously injured. Emergency responders rushed the injured victims to hospitals and are currently recovering. Some of the injured people suffered burns and smoke inhalation, and their condition is being closely monitored, medical officials said.

Hence, initial investigations suggest that a short circuit could have triggered the fire. But the exact cause will be known only after a thorough technical inspection and forensic examination of the premises, officials said. Electrical systems, safety measures and fire-prevention infrastructure installed at the establishment are to be investigated.

Witnesses said the bar erupted into chaos as flames and smoke swirled inside, and people ran out of the place, and staff rushed to the exits as well. Some residents and passersby also jumped in to help those trapped inside, they said.

Fire and Emergency Services personnel arrived on the scene soon after they heard of the fire. The fire was so intense, and the smoke was thick inside the building, that fire crews had serious trouble controlling the fire. Fire tenders were deployed, and rescue teams took great care to get everyone out of the building.

Firefighters extinguished the flames and prevented the fire from spreading to neighbouring structures after hours of firefighters worked hard to extinguish the flames. The building was searched for a number of hours after firefighters extinguished the flames and found nobody inside.

The incident has once again raised questions about fire safety standards in commercial facilities, especially those where you’re going out for dinner, in a pub, or in a club. Electrical failure, lack of emergency exits, overcrowding and lack of fire-safety systems can all contribute significantly to the deaths during these kinds of incidents, experts say.

Local authorities will assess whether the pub complied with all of the fire safety requirements, including fire extinguishers, emergency evacuation plans, smoke detectors and proper safety clearances. Any lapses may result in legal action against those involved in the incident.

Sahil and Prakash’s deaths left their families devastated, while the injured are being treated. Letters of condolence have been received from the residents and community members who are in grief about the tragic loss of life.

Police and fire department officials are conducting an investigation. What the truth is behind the fire and whether negligence had some role in the tragedy will be revealed.

The loss of two lives in Mysuru should be a great reminder to the public that we need to put fire safety in place here in town to prevent a disaster in the future.
